Diamond Quality Checker

We are looking for Diamond Quality Checker to coordinate with our management and support to upscale our business.   work ensures that the jewellery piece manufactured is as per design and defect-free before allowing it to be dispatched to the customer

Responsibilities 

• receive jewellery from the Supervisor or directly from the production department for rechecking, after defects have been rectified
• check the design number of jewellery as per the job sheet
• understand details of the design in terms of gold weight; types of diamonds/gemstones, their size and weight and finish of overall jewellery
• check filing defects, e.g., no rough edges or uneven surface
• check to polish, e.g., finish Matt or plain or shiny
• check linking and soldering, e.g., loose links or durability, gaps
• check rhodium or plating, e.g., uneven colour or not matching design
• check to size, e.g., the size of jewellery, components or stones not matching the design
• check the setting, e.g., securely fixed stones and placed correctly in the collet
• check casting, e.g., porosity, blisters, bubbles and cracks
• check the aesthetic look of the jewellery as per the design requirement
• check the quality of the diamond/gemstone quality as per the job sheet
• weigh the jewellery piece
• check if any loose pieces or stones should be returned to the Production Manager
• accurately identify all defects so that the customer gets a defect-free jewellery piece
• report to Supervisor or Production Department with details of defects to be rectified
• identify recurring defects in order to improve processes and productivity

Requirements: 

• convey the defect to the production department or supervisor for corrective action to be taken
• inform about design defects effectively
• address quality concerns raised by others, e.g., Tagger and Labeller, Production Manager or Supervisor
• different quality parameters for products, clients, and markets and accept or reject the finished products accordingly
• work in a sitting position for long hours with the correct posture
• maintain a clean work environment and organize tools for ease of use
